Account and Payment Card Protection Services
CCU offers several FREE, secure services that can help protect your accounts, debit cards, and credit cards from fraudulent activity. Please take a moment to review this information.
SecurLOCK® Mobile App
- What Is Protected: Credit and Debit Cards
- How It Works: The SecurLOCK® page
- Member Action Required:
- Download the app, register your cards, and set your preferences.
Fraud Detection
- What Is Protected: Credit and Debit Cards
- How It Works: CCU uses "intelligent" systems that can recognize unusual activity on your credit or debit card, such as purchases in different cities, at businesses where you do not normally shop, for larger amounts than you normally spend, or for any combination of these events. When unusual activity occurs, the CCU of Florida Fraud Detection Center will attempt to reach you by phone to authorize or deny the transaction. If we have your mobile number on file, contact can be immediate without having to suspend your card for what may be legitimate purchases.
- Member Action Required:
- Ensure that CCU has your current phone numbers, particularly your mobile number. You may update your number by calling to speak with a Member Service Representative at 321.690.2328, when visiting a branch, or within eBranch Online Banking by submitting a Contact Information Update Form located under the Additional Services option within the grey menu bar.
- Notify CCU of travel plans so activity outside of your normal location will not be viewed as suspicious activity. Call or send a secure message from within eBranch Online Banking and let us know where you will be and what dates you will be traveling.
Email Alerts and Text Message Banking
- What is protected: Debit Cards
- How It Works: These services are part of CCU's eBranch Online Banking and will send messages when particular activity occurs, such as when a large withdrawal takes place or your balance drops below a certain level. Text Message Banking also lets you instantly transfer funds between CCU accounts.
- Member Action Required: Log in to eBranch Online Banking and select the "Manage Mobile Alerts" link located in the My Accounts area. You will see options for Text Message Banking and Email Alerts & Notifications. Follow the prompts to activate these services.
Please Note: CCU does not charge for any text message services. Please check with your cellular provider regarding text charges that you may incur under your plan.
Alerts for Visa Credit Cards
Note: You can set up alerts and control your card in one place using the SecurLOCK® app on your phone or tablet.
- What is protected: CCU VISA Credit Cards
- How It Works: Within Online Visa Access, You can set up Custom Alerts to receive an email or text message about a wide variety of events, like a reminder when your card payment is due, when your balance reaches a certain amount, when a payment posts, or when a single transaction exceeds a particular amount. The most effective Alert for security purposes is to set up a transaction alert with a fairly low dollar amount so you are alerted whenever your card is used to charge that amount.
- Member Action Required: Log in to eBranch Online Banking, go to the Credit Card/Mortgage tab, and select the Credit Card link. You'll go right to the Online Visa Access area. Click on the Alerts option on the Online Visa Access menu and follow the prompts to set up your Alerts. You can provide a phone number for text messages, an email address, or both.
