First Time Borrower Program
This exclusive CCU program is designed to allow first-time borrowers to get a good rate without the need for a co-signer and prevent costly mistakes as you build your credit history by providing education about managing money and credit.
With this program, you have access to the two CCU credit products most often requested by first-time borrowers:Visa® Platinum Credit Cards and Auto Loans. The product features are the same as our standard products with credit line and payment limits that help first-time borrowers keep payments manageable while obtaining the credit they need. A CCU Member Service Lender can answer any questions you may have about how the program works and how much credit is available to you based on your situation.
Since this program is intended for individuals with no credit history, we will consider your personal history and look at things like:
-
Good management of a CCU Debit/Checking Account for 6 months or more
-
Payment history for things like utilities and rent
-
College graduation or professional/trade certification
-
Employment history
-
History of savings
You do not have to meet all of these requirements.
Applicants will be asked to complete three online courses related to money and credit management.
